TIDAL AND FRESHWATER DEFINITIONS OF RIVERS TAY, MAHON, COLLIGAN AND BRICKEY


I, PATRICK J. RUTTLEDGE, Minister for Lands and Fisheries, by virtue and in exercise of the powers vested in me by the Fisheries Act, 1925 , and of every other power enabling me in this behalf, do hereby define and mark out the boundaries between the tidal and freshwater portions of the following rivers :—

TAY.—A straight line drawn across the river parallel with and 170 yards downstream from the eastern face of Stradbally Bridge, the said distance being measured in a straight line.

MAHON—A straight line drawn across the river at right angles to its course from a point on the eastern bank thereof 140 yards, measured in a straight line, downstream from the point where the boundary between the townlands of Carrickaready and Ballynasissalla cuts the said bank of the river.

COLLIGAN.—A straight line drawn across the river at right angles to its course from a point on the western bank thereof 440 yards, measured in a straight line, upstream from the centre of the western face of Ballyneety Bridge.

BRICKEY.—A straight line drawn across the river at right angles to its course from a point on the southern or eastern bank thereof 210 yards, measured in a straight line, downstream from the point where the boundary between the townlands of Shanakill and Killongford cuts the said bank of the river.
