THE HOME-GROWN WHEAT (NATIONAL PERCENTAGE FOR CEREAL YEAR 1934-35) ORDER, 1934. THE AGRICULTURAL PRODUCE (CEREALS) ACTS, 1933 AND 1934.

THE HOME-GROWN WHEAT (NATIONAL PERCENTAGE FOR CEREAL YEAR 1934-35) ORDER, 1934. THE AGRICULTURAL PRODUCE (CEREALS) ACTS, 1933 AND 1934.

WHEREAS it is enacted by sub-section (1) of section 29 of the Agricultural Produce (Cereals) Act, 1933 (No. 7 of 1933), that the Minister for Industry and Commerce, as soon as may be after the commencement of every cereal year, and after consultation with the Minister for Agriculture, shall make an order requiring that of the total amount of wheat required under section 28 of the said Act to be milled during such cereal year in all mills which are licensed mills at the commencement of such cereal year a percentage to be fixed by such order shall consist of home-grown wheat, and that the percentage so fixed shall for the purposes of the said section 29 of the said Act be the appointed national percentage in respect of such cereal year:

AND WHEREAS it is enacted by sub-section (6) of section 29 of the said Act that in fixing the appointed national percentage in respect of any cereal year the Minister shall have regard to the estimated quantity of millable wheat grown by registered wheat growers in Saorstát Eireann and available for sale in such cereal year:

AND WHEREAS the Minister for Industry and Commerce before making this order consulted with the Minister for Agriculture:

AND WHEREAS the Minister for Industry and Commerce before making this order, has had regard to the matter specified in sub-section (6) of section 29 of the said Act in respect of the cereal year to which this order relates:

NOW, THEREFORE, the Minister for Industry and Commerce in pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 29 of the Agricultural Produce (Cereals) Act, 1933 (No. 7 of 1933), and of every and any other power him in this behalf enabling hereby orders as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited for all purposes as the Home-grown Wheat (National Percentage for Cereal Year 1934-35) Order, 1934.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1923 (No. 46 of 1923), applies to the interpretation of this Order in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas.

3. Of the total amount of wheat required under section 28 of the Agricultural Produce (Cereals) Act, 1933 (No. 7 of 1933), to be milled during the cereal year commencing on the 1st day of August, 1934, in all mills which are licensed mills at the commencement of such cereal year, eight per cent. shall consist of home-grown wheat.
