WOMEN'S CLOTHING AND MILLINERY TRADE.

Regulations, dated the 21st day of December, 1935, made by the Minister for Industry and Commerce under Section 11 of the Trade Boards Act, 1909, amending the Regulations made on the 31st March, 1926, with respect to the Constitution and Proceedings of the Trade Board for the Women's Clothing and Millinery Trade.

The Minister for Industry and Commerce, in pursuance of his powers under Section 11 of the Trade Boards Act, 1909, and of all and every other power him hereunto enabling, hereby makes the following Regulations :—

(1) These Regulations shall be read and construed as one with the Regulations made under Section 11 of the Trade Boards Act, 1909, on the 31st March, 1926 (a) (hereinafter referred to as "the principal Regulations.")

(a) S.R. and O., 1926, No. 27.

(2) The following Regulation shall be substituted for Regulation 10 of the principal Regulations :—

10. Any vacancy among members shall be filled in the following manner, that is to say :—

(a) A vacancy of or among the appointed member or members shall be filled in the same manner as in the case of the original appointment to the vacated seat.

(b) A vacancy among the six members representing employers in the trade shall be filled as follows, due regard being paid to the representation of the various branches of the trade and of the various districts in which the trade is carried on :—

(i) If it appears to the Minister for Industry and Commerce that there is an organisation or that there are organisations representative of employers in the trade, the Minister for Industry and Commerce shall appoint a member to fill such vacancy after considering the names (if any) supplied by such organisation or organisations within thirty days after being requested by the Minister so to do.

(ii) If it appears to the Minister for Industry and Commerce that there is no organisation or that there are no organisations representative of employers in the trade, the vacancy shall be filled by the Minister for Industry and Commerce in such manner as he may think proper to provide for the representation of such employers.

(c) A vacancy among the six members representing workers in the trade shall be filled as follows, due regard being paid to the representation of the various branches of the trade and of the various districts in which the trade is carried on :—

(i) If it appears to the Minister for Industry and Commerce that there is an organisation or that there are organisations, representative of workers in the trade, the Minister for Industry and Commerce shall appoint a member to fill such vacancy after considering the names (if any) supplied by such organisation or organisations within thirty days after being requested by the Minister so to do.

(ii) If it appears to the Minister for Industry and Commerce that there is no organisation or that there are no organisations representative of workers in the trade, the vacancy shall be filled by the Minister for Industry and Commerce in such manner as he may think proper to provide for the representation of such workers.

(d) A vacancy among any additional representative members appointed pursuant to Regulation 6 of these Regulations shall be filled in the same manner as in the case of the original appointment to the vacated seat.

(3) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of January, 1936.

(4) These Regulations may be cited as "The Women's Clothing and Millinery Trade Board (Amendment) Regulations, 1935."
