CONTROL OF IMPORTS (Quota No. 4) (AMENDMENT No. 2) ORDER, 1936. | ||
WHEREAS it is enacted by Section 11 of the Control of Imports Act, 1934 (No. 12 of 1934), that the Executive Council may at any time by order amend or revoke any quota order or other order previously made under the said Act, including an order made under the said Section 11 amending a previous order : | ||
AND WHEREAS on the 18th day of September, 1934, the Executive Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by Section 3 of the said Act, made the Control of Imports (Quota No. 4) Order, 1934 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 243 of 1934) : | ||
AND WHEREAS by the Control of Imports (Quota No. 4) (Amendment) Order, 1935 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 19 of 1935), the said Control of Imports (Quota No. 4) Order, 1934, was amended by deleting clause (a) (which relates to infants' boots and shoes) of sub-paragraph (2) of paragraph 4 thereof : | ||
NOW, the Executive Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by Section 11 of the Control of Imports Act, 1934 (No. 12 of 1934), and of every and any other power them in this behalf enabling, do hereby order as follows :— | ||
1. This Order may be cited as the Control of Imports (Quota No. 4) (Amendment No. 2) Order, 1936. | ||
2. The Interpretation Act, 1923 (No. 46 of 1923), applies to the interpretation of this Order in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas. | ||
3. In this Order the word " rubber " includes any material which, in the opinion of the Revenue Commissioners, is artificial rubber or an imitation of rubber or contains rubber as an ingredient. | ||
4. The prohibition on the importation of boots and shoes effected by the Control of Imports (Quota No. 4) Order, 1934 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 243 of 1934), shall not extend or apply to any shoes which comply with all the following provisions, that is to say :— | ||
(a) the shoes are, in the opinion of the Revenue Commissioners, completely or substantially manufactured, and | ||
(b) the uppers of the shoes are, in the opinion aforesaid, made wholly or mainly of canvas or rubber, and | ||
(c) the soles of the shoes are made wholly or partly of rubber, and | ||
(d) the soles of the shoes are not fitted after manufacture with studs made wholly or partly of rubber or metal, and | ||
(e) the heels of the shoes are not less than one quarter of one inch in height, measured on the front face of the heel from the shank or waist to the ground where that height is least on that face, and | ||
(f) the shoes are not goloshes. | ||
5. The next preceding paragraph of this Order shall have effect by way of amendment of the said Control of Imports (Quota No. 4) Order, 1934, and that Order shall be construed and have effect accordingly. | ||
6. This Order shall come into operation on the 29th day of January, 1936. | ||
