CONTROL OF IMPORTS (QUOTA No. 24, SIXTH PERIOD) ORDER, 1938. | ||
WHEREAS it is enacted by sub-section (2) of section 6 of the Control of Imports Act, 1934 (No. 12 of 1934), as adapted in consequence of the enactment of the Constitution, that so long as any particular quota order is in force the Government shall, during and not less than one month before the end of every quota period under such quota order, by order— | ||
(a) appoint a period (beginning at the expiration of the said quota period) to be the next quota period under such quota order, and | ||
(b) appoint a specified quantity of goods to which such quota order applies to be the quota for the purposes of the said Act in respect of the said next quota period : | ||
AND WHEREAS by the Control of Imports (Quota No. 24, Fifth Period) Order, 1937 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 248 of 1937), the period beginning on the 1st day of November, 1937, and ending on the 31st day of October, 1938, was appointed to be the fifth quota period under the Control of Imports (Quota No. 24) Order, 1935 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 469 of 1935) : | ||
NOW, the Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by subsection (2) of section 6 of the Control of Imports Act, 1934 (No. 12 of 1934), as adapted in consequence of the enactment of the Constitution, and of every and any other power them in this behalf enabling, do hereby order as follows :— | ||
1. This Order may be cited as the Control of Imports (Quota No. 24, Sixth Period) Order, 1938. | ||
2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order. | ||
3. The period beginning on the 1st day of November, 1938, and ending on the 31st day of October, 1939, is hereby appointed to be the sixth quota period under the Control of Imports (Quota No. 24) Order, 1935 (which relates to certain perambulators, and chassis, bodies, and body shells of certain perambulators). | ||
4. One hundred articles to which the Control of Imports (Quota No. 24) Order, 1935, applies shall be the quota in respect of the said sixth quota period. | ||
