FURNITURE TRADE (CONSTITUTION OF APPRENTICESHIP COMMITTEE) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1939. | ||
THE FURNITURE TRADE (CONSTITUTION OF APPRENTICESHIP COMMITTEE) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1939, MADE BY THE MINISTER FOR INDUSTRY AND COMMERCE ON THE 11th DAY OF JANUARY, 1939, PURSUANT TO SUBSECTION (4) OF SECTION 4 of THE APPRENTICESHIP ACT, 1931 . | ||
WHEREAS it is enacted by subsection (4) of section 4 of the Apprenticeship Act, 1931 (No. 56 of 1931) that the Minister for Industry and Commerce may by regulations make provision for any matter or thing relating to the constitution of apprenticeship committees which is not provided for by the said section : | ||
AND WHEREAS the title of apprenticeship committees is a matter relating to the constitution of apprenticeship committees which is not provided for by the said section 4 : | ||
AND WHEREAS by the Furniture Trade (Constitution of Apprenticeship Committee) Regulations, 1937 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 320 of 1937), the said Minister provided for the title of the apprenticeship committee to which the said Regulations relate : | ||
NOW, the Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by subsection (4) of section 4 of the Apprenticeship Act, 1931 (No. 56 of 1931), and of every and any other power him in this behalf enabling, hereby makes the following regulations :— | ||
1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Furniture Trade (Constitution of Apprenticeship Committee) (Amendment) Regulations, 1939. | ||
(2) The Principal Regulations and these Regulations may be cited together as the Furniture Trade (Constitution of Apprenticeship Committee) Regulations, 1937 and 1939. | ||
2. In these Regulations, the expression " the Principal Regulations " means the Furniture Trade (Constitution of Apprenticeship Committee) Regulations, 1937 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 320 of 1937). | ||
3. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to these Regulations. | ||
4. The Principal Regulations are hereby amended by the deletion of paragraph (e) of Regulation 6 thereof and the substitution in lieu of that paragraph of the following paragraph, that is to say :— | ||
" (e) the apprenticeship committee shall be styled ' The Apprenticeship Committee (No. 2) for the Furniture Trade ' ", | ||
and the said Regulations shall be construed and have effect accordingly. | ||
