FANCY BREAD (PRICES) ORDER, 1942.

I, SEÁN F. LEMASS, Minister for Supplies, in exercise of the powers conferred on the Minister for Industry and Commerce by sections 3 and 4 of the Bread (Regulation of Prices) Act, 1936 (No. 29 of 1936), and delegated to the Minister for Supplies under Section 6 of the Emergency Powers Act, 1939 (No. 28 of 1939), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, hereby order as follows :—

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Fancy Bread (Prices) Order, 1942.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 13th day of July, 1942.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

3. This Order applies to the whole of the State.

4. In this Order the expression " fancy bread " means bread other than—

(a) bread commonly known as batch bread, or

(b) bread of any of the following proprietary brands, namely, " Hofda," " Procea," and " Bermaline."

5. The maximum price at which fancy bread, weighing one pound or any multiple of one pound, may be sold or offered for sale, when sold or offered for sale under any set of conditions mentioned in the second column of the Schedule hereto, shall be the price specified in the third column of the said Schedule opposite the mention of such set of conditions.

6. Fancy bread shall not be sold or offered for sale unless it is sold or offered for sale either (i) in units of less than eight ounces in weight or (ii) in units of one pound or multiples of one pound in weight.

SCHEDULE.

MAXIMUM PRICES AT WHICH FANCY BREAD MAY BE SOLD OR OFFERED FOR SALE IN UNITS OF ONE POUND OR MULTIPLES OF ONE POUND.

1.

When sold or offered for sale wholesale, delivery being taken by the purchaser at the place where the fancy bread is kept by the vendor.

A price calculated at the rate of ¼d. per lb., less 10 per cent.

2.

When sold or offered for sale wholesale, delivery being made by the vendor to the purchaser at some place other than the place where the fancy bread is kept by the vendor.

A price calculated at the rate of 3¼d. per lb., less 10 per cent.

3.

When sold or offered for sale retail by the baker thereof in a shop owned by him, delivery being taken by the purchaser at such shop.

A price calculated at the rate of 3d. per lb.

4.

When sold or offered for sale retail by a person other than the baker thereof in a shop owned by such person, delivery being taken by the purchaser at such shop.

A price calculated at the rate of 3¼d. per lb.

5.

When sold or offered for sale retail, delivery being made by the vendor to the purchaser at some place other than the place of sale.

A price calculated at the rate of 3¼d. per lb.

6.

When sold or offered for sale retail from a vehicle owned by the vendor, immediate delivery being taken by the purchaser.

A price calculated at the rate of 3¼d. per lb.
