BY-LAW No. 445. No. 4 or LISMORE DISTRICT.

BY-LAW No. 445. No. 4 or LISMORE DISTRICT.

SIZE LIMIT FOR SALMON AND TROUT.

I, SÉAMAS Ó RIAIN, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers now exercisable by me under the Fisheries Acts, 1842 to 1939, and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, do hereby make the following By-Law, that is to say :—

(1) This By-Law may be cited as the Lismore District By-Law No. 445, 1942.

(2) This By-Law shall come into operation on the 1st day of February, 1942.

(3) The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this By-Law.

(4) It is hereby prohibited to take and kill, by any means whatsoever in any of the waters of the No. 4 or Lismore Fishery District, any fish of the salmon or trout kind of less than seven inches in length measured in a straight line from the tip of the snout to the fork of the tail or to have in possession on or near the banks of the said waters any such fish of less than the said length.

(5) Any such fish which may be taken must be returned alive to the water forthwith.

(6) This By-Law shall not apply to the taking or possession of fish under authority given in accordance with Section 32 of the Fisheries Act, 1925 , nor to the possession of fish in in any hatchery or private pond in the said Fishery District.

(7) Each and every person offending against this By-Law shall forfeit and pay for each offence a sum not exceeding five pounds.
