NIGHT WORK (BAKERIES) (EXCEPTIONAL WORK FOR LIMITED PERIODS) REGULATIONS, 1946. | ||
WHEREAS it is enacted by sub-section (2) of Section 5 of the Night Work (Bakeries) Act, 1936 (No. 42 of 1936), that the Minister for Industry and Commerce may, after consultation with persons who in his opinion are representative of employers interested in bakeries and with persons who in his opinion are representative of workers so interested, by order make regulations prescribing as exceptional work for a limited period specified in such regulations all or any of the processes of manufacture carried on in any bakery to which that Act applies if the carrying on of such processes in the period of night is in the opinion of the said Minister necessary for the carrying on of such bakery during such period owing to : | ||
(a) an unusual pressure of work, or | ||
(b) national emergency, | ||
and whenever the said Minister makes such regulations any process of manufacture prescribed thereby as exceptional work shall, for the period specified in such regulations, be exceptional work for the purposes of the said Act : | ||
AND WHEREAS the Minister for Industry and Commerce is of opinion that the carrying on of all the processes of manufacture carried on in any bakery to which the said Act applies in the period of night is necessary for the carrying on of such bakery during each of the several periods specified in the Schedule to these Regulations owing to an unusual pressure of work : | ||
AND WHEREAS the Minister for Industry and Commerce has, before making these Regulations, consulted persons who in his opinion are representative of employers interested in bakeries and persons who in his opinion are representative of workers so interested in relation thereto : | ||
NOW, the Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sub-section (2) of Section 5 of the Night Work (Bakeries) Act, 1936 (No. 42 of 1936), and of every and any other power him in this behalf enabling, hereby orders and makes the following Regulations :— | ||
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Night Work (Bakeries) (Exceptional Work for Limited Periods) Regulations, 1946. | ||
2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to these Regulations. | ||
3. All the processes of manufacture carried on in any bakery to which the Night Work (Bakeries) Act, 1936 (No. 42 of 1936), applies shall be exceptional work during each of the periods specified in the Schedule to these Regulations. | ||

1. The period from 10 p.m., 4th March, 1946 to 6 a.m., 6th March, 1946. | ||
2. The period from 10 p.m., 14th March, 1946 to 6 a.m., 16th March, 1946. | ||
3. The period from 10 p.m., 16th April, 1946 to 6 a.m., 20th April, 1946. | ||
4. The period from 10 p.m., 6th May, 1946 to 6 a.m., 8th May, 1946. | ||
5. The period from 10 p.m., 1st August, 1946 to 6 a.m., 3rd August, 1946. | ||
6. The period from 10 p.m., 23rd October, 1946 to 6 a.m., 26th October, 1946. | ||
7. The period from midnight, 27th October, 1946 to 6 a.m., 31st October, 1946. | ||
8. The period from midnight, 8th December, 1946 to 6 a.m., 14th December, 1946. | ||
