DUBLIN TAXIMETER AREA FARE BYE-LAWS, 1947.

DUBLIN TAXIMETER AREA FARE BYE-LAWS, 1947.

I, MICHAEL J. KINNANE, Commissioner of the Gárda Síochána, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 139 and 140 of the Road Traffic Act, 1933 (No. 11 of 1933), after consultation with the Right Honourable the Lord Mayor, Aldermen and Burgesses of Dublin, the Council of the County of Dublin and the Corporation of Dún Laoghaire and with the consent of the Minister for Local Government testified by his official seal affixed hereto, make the following bye-laws :—

1. (1) These Bye-laws may be cited as the Dublin Taximeter Area Fare Bye-laws, 1947.

(2) The Dublin Taximeter Area Fare Bye-laws, 1937 (S. R. & O., No. 192 of 1937), and these Bye-laws may be cited together as the Dublin Taximeter Area Fare Bye-laws, 1937 and 1947.

2. The Dublin Taximeter Area Fare Bye-laws, 1937 (S. R. & O., No. 192 of 1937), as amended by Dublin Taximeter Area Fare Bye-laws, 1946 (S. R. & O., No. 228 of 1946), are hereby further amended :—

(i) by the substitution in paragraph (a) of bye-law 3 of the words " one shilling and six pence " for the words " one shilling and three pence ",

(ii) by the substitution in paragraph (b) of bye-law 3 of the words " fourpence halfpenny " for the words " three pence three farthings " wherever the latter words occur,

(iii) by the substitution for the Note added to the Schedule by the Dublin Taximeter Area Fare Bye-laws, 1946, of the Note set out in the Schedule to these Bye-laws.

3. The Dublin Taximeter Area Fare Bye-laws, 1946 (S. R. & O., No. 228 of 1946) are hereby revoked.

SCHEDULE.

NOTE AS TO INCREASE OF RATES FOR TIME AND DISTANCE CHARGES.

By the Dublin Taximeter Area Fare Bye-laws, 1947, the rates for time and distance charges have been increased by one-half and accordingly the proper fare in respect of these charges is that recorded on the taximeter increased by one-half. The extra payments in respect of additional passengers and luggage have not been increased.

WHEREAS in pursuance of section 8 of the Road Traffic Act, 1933 (No. 11 of 1933), the Commissioner of the Gárda Síochána has submitted the foregoing bye-laws to the Minister for Local Government :

AND WHEREAS the provisions of subsections (1) and (5) of that section have been complied with in relation to the said bye-laws :

NOW, the Minister for Local Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 139 of the said Act, hereby consents to the making of the said bye-laws.
