TURF DEVELOPMENT ACT, 1946 (SECTION 31) REGULATIONS, 1948.

I, SEÁN F. LEMASS, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by the joint operation of sections 4 and 31 of the Turf Development Act, 1946 (No. 10 of 1946), hereby make the following regulations--

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Turf Development Act, 1946 (Section 31) Regulations, 1948.

2. In these Regulations--

the expression " the Act " means the Turf Development Act, 1946 (No. 10 of 1946) ;

the expression " the Board " means Bord na Móna ;

the expression " the required maps, plans and books of reference " means the maps, plans and books of reference required by section 31 of the act to be deposited by the Board.

3. For the purposes of subsection (4) and (5) of section 31 of the act, the following provisions shall have effect--

(a) the required maps, plans and books of reference shall, in addition to being deposited at the head offices of the Board in the City of Dublin, be deposited at the Gárda Síochána station in the townland in which is situate the land, property or right proposed to be acquired or interfered with (as the case may be) by the Board or, if there is no Gárda, Síochána station in the townland, in the Gárda Síochána station in the nearest townland having such station or, if such land, property or right extend to more than one townland, in the Gárda Síochána station most convenient to such land, property or right,

(b) the required maps, plans and books of reference shall remain so deposited at the said head office and any such Gárda Síochána station for a period of two months,

(c) the Board shall, in addition to giving public notice of such deposit by advertisement published twice in each of two or more daily newspapers circulating in the City of Dublin, give public notice of such deposit by advertisement published twice in each of one or more newspapers circulating in the townland or townlands in which is situate such land, property or right.
