WILD BIRDS (COUNTY MAYO) ORDER, 1948. |
||
WHEREAS the County Manager of the County of Mayo has applied to the Minister for Justice for an order prohibiting the taking or destroying in the County of Mayo of the eggs of any wild bird other than the hooded crow and the magpie because of the usefulness of wild birds to agriculture: |

NOW, I, SEÁN MAC EOIN, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 7 of the Wild Birds Protection Act, 1930 (No. 16 of 1930), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, hereby, because of the usefulness of wild birds to agriculture, order as follows:-- |

1. This Order may be cited as the Wild Birds (County Mayo) Order, 1948. |
||
2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order. |
||
3. (1) No person shall take or destroy in the County of Mayo in any of the years, 1948, 1949 and 1950 the eggs of any wild bird. |
||
(2) Paragraph (1) of this Article shall not apply to-- |
||
(a) the eggs of the hooded crow and the magpie, |
||
(b) The eggs of any wild bird which are already prohibited from being taken or destroyed under the Wild Birds (County Mayo) Order, 1944 ( S. R. & O. No. 289 of 1944 ). |
