I, JOSEPH BLOWICK, Minister for Lands, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Housing (Gaeltacht) Acts, 1929 to 1949, hereby make the following regulations :-- |
||
1.--(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Housing (Gaeltacht) (General) Regulations, 1949. |
||
(2) These Regulations shall be construed as one with the Housing (Gaeltacht) (General) Regulations, 1931 and 1934, and may be cited together with those Regulations as the Housing (Gaeltacht) (General) Regulations, 1931 to 1949. |
||
2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to these regulations. |
||
3. In these Regulations-- |
||
" The Act of 1949 " means the Housing (Gaeltacht) (Amendment) Act, 1949 (No. 4 of 1949) ; |
||
" house " means a dwelling-house towards the erection of which a building grant may be made in accordance with the Act of 1949. |
||
4.--(1) The water supply and drainage systems of every house shall be in accordance with either-- |
||
(a) a standard plan, or |
||
(b) a standard plan with deviations sanctioned in writing by an inspector, or |
||
(c) a plan approved in writing by an inspector. |
||
(2) A house for which a sufficient water supply and means of drainage are available shall be provided with a sink and water closet. |
||
(3) Where a private water supply or private sewage disposal is contemplated, the water supply shall be at all times sufficient for flushing purposes. |
||
5. Every house shall be so designed and constructed that the aggregate floor space measured within the containing walls of the several rooms is at least-- |
||
(a) where the building grant is the maximum specified in the First or Second Schedule to the Act of 1949 for a house of its kind-- |
||
(i) for a house of three rooms--four hundred and fifty-five square feet, |
||
(ii) for a house of four rooms--five hundred and fifty square feet, |
||
(iii) for a house of five or more rooms--six hundred and ten square feet ; |
||
(b) where the building grant is less than the appropriate maximum--such area as an inspector shall sanction in writing, having regard to the amount of the grant and the suitability of the accommodation which the house will provide. |
||
6. The Minister may require an applicant for a grant in accordance with the Act of 1949 to verify, by a statutory declaration under the Statutory Declarations Act, 1938 (No. 37 of 1938), any or all of the following facts :-- |
||
(a) the date upon which the work concerned was commenced, |
||
(b) the date upon which it was completed, |
||
(c) in the case of a building grant, the date upon which the house was occupied. |
||
7. An application for a grant in accordance with the Act of 1949 need not be accompanied by a valuation certificate. |
||
