S.I. No. 98/1950:

DUBLIN TRAFFIC (PARKING AND WAITING) (AMENDMENT) BYE-LAWS, 1950.

DUBLIN TRAFFIC (PARKING AND WAITING) (AMENDMENT) BYE-LAWS, 1950.

WHEREAS the Commissioner of the Garda Síochána has, before making the bye-laws hereinafter set forth, consulted the Right Honorable the Lord Mayor, Aldermen and Burgesses of Dublin, the Council of the County of Dublin, and the Corporation of Dun Laoghaire in regard thereto.

NOW, I, MICHAEL J. KINNANE, Commissioner of the Garda Síochána, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by subsection (1) of section 150 of the Road Traffic Act, 1933 (No. 11 of 1933), and of the powers conferred on me by section 147 of the said Act, and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, hereby, with the consent of the Minister for Local Government testified by his Official Seal affixed hereto, make the following bye-laws in respect of the Dublin Metropolitan Area, that is to say :--

1.--These bye-laws may be cited as the Dublin Traffic (Parking and Waiting) (Amendment) Bye-Laws, 1950.

2.--The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to these bye-laws.

3.--(1) In these bye-laws " the principal bye-laws " means the Dublin Traffic (Parking and Waiting) Bye-Laws, 1949 ( S.I. No. 70 of 1949 ).

(2) These bye-laws shall be construed as one with the principal bye-laws.

4.--The First Schedule to the principal bye-laws is hereby amended--

(a) by the substitution in the fourth column at Ref. No. 16 for the matter contained therein of the following--

" vehicles exceeding 14 feet in length--in single line by the kerb and parallel thereto--facing towards Dawson Street ;

vehicles not exceeding 14 feet in length--with rear to the kerb and inclined at an angle of about 45 degrees." ;

(b) by the deletion of the matter contained at Ref. No. 18.

5.--The Fourth Schedule to the principal bye-laws is hereby amended--

(a) by the deletion of the matter contained at Ref. Nos. 2 and 3 ;

(b) by the addition of

" 24 | Saint Stephen's Green, South." ..............

6.--The Fifth Schedule to the principal bye-laws is hereby amended by the addition of--

" 37

Upper Abbey Street.

South side on even dates ;

North side on even dates ;

North side on odd dates

South side on odd dates."

7.--(1) No person shall keep a vehicle waiting at any time for any period in any street or portion of a street mentioned in the second column of the Schedule to these bye-laws, save that, where one side only of such street is mentioned in the third column of the said Schedule opposite the mention of such street in the said second column, the said prohibition shall apply only to the side so mentioned of such street or portion of a street.

(2) Paragraph (3) of Bye-Law 13 of the Principal bye-laws and the Sixth Schedule thereto are hereby revoked.

WHEREAS in pursuance of section 8 of the Road Traffic Act, 1933 (No. 11 of 1933), the Commissioner has submitted the foregoing bye-laws to the Minister for Local Government ; AND WHEREAS the provisions of sub-sections (1) and (5) of the said section 8 have been complied with ; NOW THEREFORE the Minister for Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 150 of the said Act hereby consents to the making of the said bye-laws.
