S.I. No. 186/1951:

POULTRY HATCHERIES REGULATIONS, 1951.

POULTRY HATCHERIES REGULATIONS, 1951.

I, THOMAS WALSH, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Poultry Hatcheries Act, 1947 (No. 49 of 1947), hereby make the following regulations :--

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Poultry Hatcheries Regulations, 1951.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 11th day of July, 1951.

3. In these Regulations the expression " the Principal Regulations " means the Poultry Hatcheries Regulations, 1948 ( S.I. No. 378 of 1948 ), as amended.

4. (1) These Regulations shall be construed as one with the Principal Regulations.

(2) The Poultry Hatcheries Regulations, 1948 and 1949, and these Regulations may be cited together as the Poultry Hatcheries Regulations, 1948 to 1951.

5. The Principal Regulations are hereby amended as follows

(a) by the deletion of the words " of pure breeds " in Article 21 ;

(b) by the deletion of paragraph (a) in Article 50 ;

(c) by the substitution of the Form S.F. 1 set out in Table 1 hereto for the Form S.F. 1 set out in Schedule No. 1 ;

(d) by the substitution of the Form P.H. 3 set out in Table II hereto for the Form P.H. 3 set out in Schedule No. 2.

6.--(1) Poultry hatcheries of the following classes shall be exempted from subsection (1) of section 8 of the Act--

(a) any poultry hatchery the total incubator capacity of which is less than 300 eggs other than such a poultry hatchery which operates as an adjunct of a particular supply farm and engages in the distribution of poultry up to the age of eight weeks by sale or otherwise ;

(b) any poultry hatchery which does not engage in the distribution of poultry up to the age of eight weeks by sale or otherwise ;

(c) any poultry hatchery which the Minister is satisfied is operating for experimental or educational purposes.

(2) Article 5 of the Poultry Hatcheries Regulations, 1949 ( S.I. No. 275 of 1949 ), is hereby revoked.
