BYE-LAW No. 478. No. 8 or LIMERICK DISTRICT.

I, GEARÓID MAC PHARTHALÁIN, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred by the Fisheries Acts, 1842 to 1949, and the Fisheries (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) Order, 1951, and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, do hereby make the following Bye-Law, that is to say :--

1. This Bye-Law may be cited as the River Shannon Bye-Law No. 478, 1951.

2. This Bye-Law shall come into operation on the 1st day of February, 1952.

3. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937) applies to this Bye-Law.

4. The Limerick District Bye-Law No. 400, 1930, is hereby revoked.

5. Fishing by any means whatsoever in that part of the tail race, adjoining the River Shannon, between the powerhouse near Ardnacrusha in the townland of Ballykeelaun in the County of Clare and the upstream face of the bridge over the said tail race situated in the townland of Garraun in the County of Clare is hereby prohibited.

6. Fishing by any means other than single rod and line in that part of the aforementioned tail race downstream of the upstream face of the bridge over the said tail race situated in the townland of Garraun in the County of Clare is hereby prohibited.

7. Any person offending against this Bye-Law shall forfeit and pay for each offence a sum not exceeding five pounds and any fishing engine used contrary to this Bye-Law shall, as a statutory consequence of conviction, stand forfeited.
