S.I. No. 224/1952:

SOCIAL WELFARE (CHILDREN'S ALLOWANCES) (NORMAL RESIDENCE) RULES, 1952.

SOCIAL WELFARE (CHILDREN'S ALLOWANCES) (NORMAL RESIDENCE) RULES, 1952.

I, SÉAMAS Ó RIAIN, Minister for Social Welfare, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Social Welfare (Children's Allowances) Acts, 1944 to 1952, hereby prescribe the following rules:

1. These Rules may be cited as the Social Welfare (Children's Allowances) (Normal Residence) Rules, 1952.

2. The Children's Allowances (Normal Residence) Rules 1946 (S. R. & O., No. 152 of 1946), are hereby amended by the insertion, at the end of Rule 3 and at the end of Rule 4, of the following proviso:

" Provided that if the child's mother is wholly or mainly maintaining her husband, who is incapable of self-support by reason of some physical or mental infirmity, the child shall be regarded as normally residing with his mother and with no other person."
