DEPARTMENT OF POSTS AND TELEGRAPHS. THE POSTAL ORDER (INLAND) AMENDMENT (No. 5) REGULATIONS, 1953.

I, SEÁN MAC ENTEE, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Post Office Acts, 1908 to 1951, and of all other powers enabling me in this behalf, hereby, on the representation of the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs (testified by his signing the same) make the following Regulations :--

1. These Regulations shall be read and construed as one with the Postal Order (Inland) Regulations, 1905, hereinafter referred to as the Principal Regulations, and all Regulations amending the same.
|
|
|
2. From and after the date when these Regulations come into operation Regulation 4 of the Principal Regulations is hereby revoked and the following Regulation is substituted in lieu thereof, namely :--
|
|
|
"4. Postal orders shall be issued for the following sums :--
|
|
|
(a) the sum of sixpence and for such multiples of sixpence up to and including the sum of 9s., and
|
|
|
(b) the sum of 10s. and for such multiples of 1s. up to and including the sum of 40s.
|
|
|
as the Minister for Finance may from time to time direct."
|
|
|
3. From and after the date when these Regulations come into operation the Postal Order (Inland) Amendment (No. 4) Regulations, 1951, are hereby revoked and the following Regulation is substituted in lieu of Regulation 5 of the Principal Regulations, namely :--
|
|
|
"5. The poundage payable on Postal Orders shall be as follows :--
|
|
|
|
|
|
| For an order for 6d. ... ... ... |
1½d. |
|
For an order for any multiple of 6d. between 1s. and 9s., both inclusive ... ... ...
|
2d. |
|
For an order for any multiple of 1s. between 10s. and 20s., both inclusive ... ... ...
|
3d. |
|
For an order for any multiple of 1s. between 21s. and 40s., both inclusive ... ...
|
4d." |
|
|
|
4. From and after the date when these Regulations come into operation the First Schedule to the Principal Regulations (being one of the Schedules mentioned in Regulation 2 of the Principal Regulations) is hereby revoked.
|
|
|
5. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 18th day of May, 1953.
|
|
|
6. These Regulations may be cited as the Postal Order (Inland) Amendment (No. 5) Regulations, 1953.
|
|
|
