CONTROL OF IMPORTS (QUOTA NO. 13) (ARTIFICIAL SILK PIECE GOODS AMENDMENT) (NO. 2) ORDER, 1953.

CONTROL OF IMPORTS (QUOTA NO. 13) (ARTIFICIAL SILK PIECE GOODS AMENDMENT) (NO. 2) ORDER, 1953.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by the Control of Imports Acts, 1934 and 1937, and every and any other power them in this behalf enabling, hereby order as follows :

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Control of Imports (Quota No. 13) (Artificial Silk Piece Goods Amendment) (No. 2) Order, 1953.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 25th day of September, 1953.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

3. The Control of Imports (Quota No. 13) Order, 1935 ( S. R. & O. No. 59 of 1935 ), as amended, is hereby further amended as follows :

(a) in Part I of the Schedule (being the Part inserted by the Control of Imports (Quota No. 13) (Artificial Silk Piece Goods Amendment) Order, 1952 ( S.I. No. 145 of 1952 ), and amended by the Control of Imports (Quota No. 13) (Artificial Silk Piece Goods Amendment) Order, 1953 ( S.I. No. 39 of 1953 ))--

(i) " more than eighty-five per cent." shall be deleted and " not less than forty per cent." shall be substituted therefor, and

(ii) " (f) are loomstate or bleached ; or " shall be deleted ;

(b) the following shall be inserted at the end of Part II of the Schedule :

" Motor tyre fabric.

Chenille.

Velvet, velveteen and other pile fabrics (other than moquette or plush, being moquette or plush which contains not less than forty per cent. by weight of artificial silk and which exceeds eight ounces, but does not exceed twenty-four ounces, in weight per square yard).

Coutil.

Corset brocade.

Leather cloth.

Corduroy.

Holland blind cloth.

Combined cloth."
