CENSORSHIP OF FILMS ACT, 1923 (FEES) ORDER, 1955.

I, JAMES EVERETT, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 11 of the Censorship of Films Act, 1923 (No. 23 of 1923), and with the sanction of the Minister for Finance, hereby order as follows :--

1.--(1) This Order may be cited as the Censorship of Films Act, 1923 (Fees) Order, 1955.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 16th day of January, 1955.

2. The fees to be charged under subsection (1) of section 11 of the Act shall be the fees set out in the Schedule to this Order.

3. No fee shall be charged in respect of a film which, in the opinion of the Official Censor, is of an educational nature.

4. The Censorship of Films Act, 1923 (Fees) Order, 1944 ( S. R. & O. No. 143 of 1944 ), as amended, is hereby revoked.

SCHEDULE.

1. The fee to be charged in respect of an application to the Official Censor for a certificate under the Act shall be :--

(a) in the case of a film which, in the opinion of the Official Censor, is in any of the following categories, that is to say, " topical," " travel," " interest," a fee of si004y55p0013a.jpg per foot of film ;

(b) in the case of any other film (not being, in the opinion of the Official Censor, of an educational nature), a fee of si004y55p0013b.jpg per foot of film.

Where a fee calculated under this paragraph includes a fraction of 1/-, the fraction shall not be charged if it is less than 6d., and shall be charged as 1/- if it is 6d. or more.

2. The fee in respect of a copy of reasons furnished by the Official Censor in pursuance of subsection (2) of section 8 of the Act shall be 5/-.
