CONTROL OF IMPORTS (QUOTA NO. 3, THIRTY-NINTH PERIOD, ADDITIONAL QUOTA) (LEATHER FOOTWEAR) ORDER, 1955.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by the Control of Imports Acts, 1934 and 1937, and of every and any other power them in this behalf enabling, hereby order as follows :

1. This Order may be cited as the Control of Imports (Quota No. 3, Thirty-Ninth Period, Additional Quota) (Leather Footwear) Order, 1955.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

3. The quota appointed by the Control of Imports (Quota No. 3, Thirty-Ninth Period) (Leather Footwear) Order, 1954 ( S.I. No. 251 of 1954 ), is hereby increased by twenty thousand pairs of articles to which the Control of Imports (Quota No. 3) Order, 1934 ( S. R. & O. No. 242 of 1934 ), as amended, applies, to the intent that the said twenty thousand pairs of articles shall be an additional quota in respect of the said thirty-ninth quota period, and the total quota in respect of the said thirty-ninth quota period shall be forty thousand pairs of articles to which the said Control of Imports (Quota No. 3) Order, 1934, as amended, applies.

4. Every application made in relation to the additional quota specified in this Order for a licence to import any quantity of the articles to which the Control of Imports (Quota No. 3) Order, 1934, as amended, applies, shall be made within seventeen days after the date of this Order.
