WORKMEN'S COMPENSATION ACT, 1934 (INDUSTRIAL DISEASE) ORDER, 1956.

I, BRENDAN CORISH, Minister for Social Welfare, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 76 of the Workmen's Compensation Act, 1934 (No. 9 of 1934), and the Workmen's Compensation Act, 1934 (Transfer of Ministerial Functions) Order, 1947 ( S. R. & O. No. 161 of 1947 ), hereby order as follows :

1.--(1) This Order may be cited as the Workmen's Compensation Act, 1934 (Industrial Disease) Order, 1956.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 2nd day of April, 1956.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

3. The provisions of section 76 of the Workmen's Compensation Act, 1934 (No. 9 of 1934), are hereby extended to the disease and process specified in the first and second columns of the Schedule to this Order as if that disease were included in the first column of the Sixth Schedule to that Act and that process were set opposite in the second column of the said Sixth Schedule to that disease.

Pneumoconiosis due to the inhalation, in coal mining or in any operation connected with coal-mining or with the search for coal, of coal-dust or silica dust.
