FACTORIES (ADAPTATION OF REGULATIONS) REGULATIONS, 1961.

FACTORIES (ADAPTATION OF REGULATIONS) REGULATIONS, 1961.

I, JOHN LYNCH, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 8 of the Factories Act, 1955 (No. 10 of 1955), hereby make the following regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Factories {Adaptation of Regulations) Regulations, 1961.

2.--(1) References in the Regulations to a certifying surgeon shall be construed as references to a certifying doctor appointed under section 96 of the Factories Act, 1955 (No. 10 of 1955).

(2) In paragraph (1) of this Regulation "the Regulations" means the regulations made under section 79 of the Factory and Workshop Act, 1901, which are specified in the Schedule to these Regulations.

SCHEDULE.

(1) Regulations made on the 21st day of January, 1907, for the manufacture of paints and colours (S. R. & O., No. 17 of 1907).

(2) Regulations made on the 18th day of December, 1908, for vitreous enamelling of metal or glass (S. R. & O., No. 1258 of 1908).

(3) Regulations made on the 30th day of June, 1909, for the tinning of metal hollow-ware, iron drums, and harness furniture (S. R. & O., No. 720 of 1909).

(4) Regulations made on the 13th day of August, 1911, for the smelting of materials containing lead, the manufacture of red or orange lead, and the manufacture of flaked litharge (S. R. & O., No. 752 of 1911).

(5) Regulations made on the 2nd day of January, 1913, for the manufacture and decoration of pottery (S. R. & O., No. 2 of 1913).

(6) Chemical Works Regulations, 1923 (S. R. & O., No. 14 of 1923).

(7) Electric Accumulator Regulations, 1941 (S.R. & O., No, 19 of 1941).

(8) Chromium Plating Regulations, 1942 (S. R. & O., No. 8 of 1942).

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The purpose of these Regulations is to provide that references to a certifying surgeon in the regulations made under Section 79 of the Factory and Workshop Act, 1901, which are specified in the Schedule to these Regulations shall be construed as references to a certifying doctor appointed under Section 96 of the Factories Act, 1955 .
