COURTS OF JUSTICE AND COURT OFFICERS (SUPERANNUATION) ACT, 1961 (SECTION 7) (APPOINTED DAY) ORDER, 1962

COURTS OF JUSTICE AND COURT OFFICERS (SUPERANNUATION) ACT, 1961 (SECTION 7) (APPOINTED DAY) ORDER, 1962

I, SÉAMAS Ó RIAIN, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the power conferred on me by paragraph (d) of subsection (2) of section 7 of the Courts of Justice and Court Officers (Superannuation) Act, 1961 (No. 16 of 1961), hereby order as follows :

1. This Order may be cited as the Courts of Justice and Court Officers (Superannuation) Act, 1961 (Section 7) (Appointed Day) Order, 1962.

2. The 31st day of October, 1962, is hereby appointed to be the appointed day for the purposes of section 7 of the Courts of Justice and Court Officers (Superannuation) Act, 1961 (No. 16 of 1961).

GIVEN under my Official Seal, this 12th day of October, 1962.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The order appoints the day after which a person retiring from office as a judge of the Supreme Court, the High Court or the Circuit Court, a Justice, Master of the High Court, a Taxing Master, or a County Registrar otherwise than on grounds of ill health may surrender part of his pension as from its commencement in return for the grant of a pension to a wife or dependant.
