AGRICULTURE (ALTERATION OF NAME OF DEPARTMENT AND TITLE OF MINISTER) ORDER, 1965.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by subsection (1) of section 6 of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act, 1939 (No. 36 of 1939), hereby order as follows :

1. This Order may be cited as the Agriculture (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1965.

2. The name of the Department of State, the present name whereof is, in the Irish language, an Roinn Talmhaíochta, and, in the English language, the Department of Agriculture, is hereby altered, in the Irish language, to that of an Roinn Talmhaiochta agus Iascaigh and, in the English language, to that of the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries.

3. The title of the Minister having charge of a Department of State, whose present title is, in the Irish language, an tAire Talmhaiochta and in the English language, the Minister for Agriculture, is hereby altered, in the Irish language, to that of an tAire Talmhaíochta agus Iascaigh and, in the English language, to that of the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries.

4. In any enactment--

(a) references to the Department of Agriculture shall be construed as references to the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries.

(b) references to the Minister for Agriculture shall be construed as references to the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order changes the name of the Department of Agriculture to that of the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries and the title of the Minister for Agriculture to that of the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries.
