CONTROL OF IMPORTS (QUOTA NO. 12) (SILK OR ARTIFICIAL SILK HOSE) (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1966.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 11 of the Control of Imports Act, 1934 (No. 12 of 1934), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Control of Imports (Quota No. 12) (Silk or Artificial Silk Hose) (Amendment) Order, 1966.

2. This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of July, 1966.

3. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

4. Paragraph 4 of the Control of Imports (Quota No. 12) Order, 1935 ( S. R. & O. No. 16 of 1935 ), as amended by the Control of Imports (Quota No. 12) (Amendment) Order, 1937 ( S. R. & O. No. 211 of 1937 ), is hereby further amended by--

(a) the substitution of "mainly" for "partly",

(b) the substitution of "man-made fibre" for "artificial silk", and

(c) the insertion after "man-made fibre" (inserted by this Order) of "and are of a value not exceeding 50/- per dozen pairs".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Instrument is to confine the scope of the Quota on stockings to stockings of silk or man-made fibre of a value not exceeding 50/- per dozen pair.
