DUBLIN COUNTY BOROUGH (ELECTORAL AREAS) ORDER, 1967.

DUBLIN COUNTY BOROUGH (ELECTORAL AREAS) ORDER, 1967.

The Minister for Local Government in exercise of the powers vested in him by section 3 of the Local Government (Dublin) Act, 1945 (No. 8 of 1945), as amended by section 1 of the Local Government (Dublin) Act, 1967 (No. 4 of 1967), hereby orders as follows:--

1. This Order may be cited as the Dublin County Corough (Electoral Areas) Order, 1967.

2. The county borough of Dublin shall be divided into the electoral areas set out in the first column of the Schedule to this Order.

3. Each such electoral area shall consist of the area desribed in the second column of the schedule to this Order opposite the name of such electoral area.

4. The number of members of the city council to be elected for each such electoral area shall be the number set out in the third column of the Schedule to this Order opposite the name of such electoral area.

5. The number of the said members to be elected for each such electoral area who are to be aldermen shall be the number set out in the fourth column of the Schedule to this Order opposite the name of such electoral area.

6. The Dublin County Borough (Electoral Areas) Order, 1954, ( S.I. No. 143 of 1954 ) is hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order divides the County Borough of Dublin into twelve electoral areas for the purposes of local elections and specifies the number of members of the city council to be elected for each area and the number of those members who are to be aldermen.
