I, NEIL T. BLANEY, Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 3 and 10 of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (No. 6 of 1966), hereby order as follows : |
||
1. This Order may be cited as the Fowl Pest (Amendment) Order, 1968. |
||
2. Article 2 of the Fowl Pest Order, 1950 ( S.I. No. 15 of 1950 ), is hereby amended by the substitution of "partridges, grouse, plover, quail, peafowl, doves, swans, owls and birds of the order Falconiformes, including any of the birds commonly called falcons, eagles, hawks, buzzards, harriers, ospreys, kestrels, kites and vultures" for "and partridges" in the definition of poultry. |

EXPLANATORY NOTE. |
||
This Order extends the definition of "poultry" in Article 2 of the Fowl Pest Order, 1950 to include grouse, plover, quail, peafowl, doves, swans, owls and birds of the order Falconiformes, including falcons, eagles, hawks, buzzards, harriers, ospreys, kestrels, kites and vultures. |
