COINAGE (CALLING IN) ORDER, 1969. |

I, CHARLES J. HAUGHEY, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the power conferred on me by section 11 of the Coinage Act, 1950 (No. 32 of 1950), hereby make the following order: |
||
1. This Order may be cited as the Coinage (Calling In) Order, 1969. |
||
2. This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of August, 1969. |
||
3. Coins of the denominations of farthing and halfpenny are hereby called in. |
||
GIVEN under my Official Seal, this 31st day of January, 1969. |

EXPLANATORY NOTE. |
||
The effect of this Order is that farthings and halfpennies shall cease to be legal tender on and from 1 August, 1969, and may not circulate or be used as currency on and from that date. |
