S.I. No. 283/1971:

CENTRAL BANK ACT, 1971 (CONDITION OF LICENCES) ORDER, 1971.

CENTRAL BANK ACT, 1971 (CONDITION OF LICENCES) ORDER, 1971.

I, SEOIRSE Ó COLLA, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 10 (4) of the Central Bank Act, 1971 (No. 24 of 1971), and at the request of the Central Bank of Ireland, hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Central Bank Act, 1971 (Condition of Licences) Order, 1971.

2. It shall be a condition of every licence that the holder thereof shall be a company.

GIVEN under my Official Seal, this 4th day of October, 1971.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of the Order is that only a company may be licensed by the Central Bank to carry on banking business.
