S.I. No. 33/1972:

HARBOUR RATES (NEW ROSS HARBOUR) ORDER, 1972.

HARBOUR RATES (NEW ROSS HARBOUR) ORDER, 1972.

I, BRIAN LENIHAN, Minister for Transport and Power, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 104 of the Harbours Act, 1946 (No. 9 of 1946), and the Transport, Fuel and Power (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1959 ( S.I. No. 125 of 1959 ), and after compliance with section 106 of that Act, hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Harbour Rates (New Ross Harbour) Order, 1972.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 17th day of February, 1972.

2. The Harbour Rates (New Ross Harbour) Order, 1949 ( S.I. No. 230 of 1949 ), shall have effect as if--

(i) the Second Schedule were amended by the addition thereto of the following:

"4 (a) On every ton of the net register tonnage or half the gross tonnage whichever is the greater of every vessel, barge or lighter constructed in New Ross and exported through the port to any port or place in Great Britain, Northern Ireland or the State a sum not exceeding

£0.05

(b) On every ton of the net register tonnage or half the gross tonnage whichever is the greater of every vessel, barge or lighter constructed in New Ross and exported through the port to any port or place other than a port in Great Britain, Northern Ireland or the State a sum not exceeding

£0.08",

and

(ii) the Third Schedule were amended by--

(a) the substitution for the matter contained in the second and third columns of that Schedule at reference Number 1 of the following:

"For the use of mobile diesel crane

... £3.00 per hour"

and

(b) the addition thereto of the following:

" 2 (a)

for attendance of harbour constable at loading or discharging of hazardous cargoes ... ... ... £3.00

(b)

for providing fresh water at Commissioners' Wharfs, any labour charges incurred and a charge of ... ... £0.20
per 1,000 gallons"

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order fixes the maximum rates for barges constructed in New Ross and exported through the port and for certain services provided for port users.
