DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1974.

DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1974.

The Minister for Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 33 (7) of the Local Government Act, 1941 , (No. 23 of 1941), hereby orders as follows:--

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Dublin County Council (Amendment) Order, 1974.

(2) This Order and the Dublin County Council Order, 1948, ( S.I. No. 268 of 1948 ), may be cited collectively as the Dublin County Council Orders, 1948 and 1974.

2. The Dublin County Council (Amendment) Order, 1960 ( S.I. No. 101 of 1960 ), is hereby revoked.

3. (1) The County of Dublin shall be divided into the county electoral areas named in the first column of the Schedule to this Order.

(2) Every such county electoral area shall consist of the places set forth in the second column of the Schedule to this Order opposite the name of such county electoral area.

(3) The number of members of the Council of the County of Dublin to be elected for each such county electoral area shall be the number set forth in the third column of the Schedule to this Order opposite the name of such county electoral area.

4. Every reference in the Schedule to this Order to a district electoral division or borough shall be construed as referring to such district electoral division or borough as existing at the date of this Order.

Dundrum The District Electoral Divisions of:-- 4

Dundrum Number One, Dundrum Number Two, Dundrum Number Three, Dundrum Number Four, Dundrum Number Five, Milltown Number One, Milltown Number Two, Whitechurch.

Dun Laoghaire The Borough of Dun Laoghaire. 3
Lucan The District Electoral Divisions of:-- 3

Blanchardstown, Castleknock, Clondalkin Number One, Clondalkin Number Two, Clonsilla, Lucan Number One, Lucan Number Two, Palmerston Number One, Palmerston Number Two.

Swords The District Electoral Divisions of:-- 5

Balbriggan Rural, Balbriggan Urban, Ballyboghil, Balscadden, Clonmethan, Coolock, Donabate, Drumcondra Rural Number One, Drumcondra Rural Number Two, Finglas, Garristown, Hollywood, Holmpatrick, Kilsallaghan, Kinsaley, Lusk, Malahide, Rush, Skerries, Swords East, Swords West.

Tallaght The District Electoral Divisions of:-- 5

Newcastle, Rathcoole, Rathfarnham Number One, Rathfarnham Number Two, Saggart, Tallaght Number One, Tallaght Number Two, Tallaght Number Three, Terenure Number One, Terenure Number Two, Terenure Number Three, Terenure Number Four.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to divide Dublin County into six county electoral areas for the purpose of the election of members of Dublin County Council and to fix the number of members to be elected for each county electoral area.
