HEALTH CONTRIBUTIONS (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1974. |

The Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 4 and 12 of the Health Contributions Act, 1971 (No. 21 of 1971) hereby makes the following Regulations:-- |
||
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Health Contributions (Amendment) Regulations, 1974. |
||
2. The following article is hereby substituted for article 4 of the Health Contributions Regulations, 1971 ( S.I. No. 278 of 1971 ):-- |
||
"4. Section 4 of the Act shall apply to all classes of employed contributors within the meaning of the Social Welfare Acts, 1952 to 1973 other than |
||
( a ) male and female contributors whose employment is mainly in agriculture; |
||
( b ) employees in the categories mentioned in section 13(1) (b) of the Social Welfare Act, 1973 (No. 15 of 1973); |
||
( c ) female employed contributors whose employment is mainly in domestic service; |
||
( d ) persons who by virtue of the Health Services Regulations, 1974 ( S.I. No. 90 of 1974 ) are not entitled to avail themselves of services provided under Sections 52 (1), 56 (2), 62 (1) and 63 (1) of the Act of 1970." |

3. The Health Contributions (Amendment) Regulations, 1973 ( S.I. No. 185 of 1973 ) are hereby revoked. |
||
4. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of April, 1974. |
||

EXPLANATORY NOTE. |
||
These Regulations exempt from liability for health contributions certain employed contributors under the Social Welfare Acts who by virtue of the Health Services Regulations, 1974 are not entitled to avail themselves of services provided under sections 52 (1), 56 (2), 62 (1) and 63 (1) of the Health Act, 1970 . |
