FOREIGN PARCEL POST AMENDMENT (No. 9) WARRANT, 1974.

FOREIGN PARCEL POST AMENDMENT (No. 9) WARRANT, 1974.

I, CONOR CRUISE O'BRIEN, Minister for Posts and Telegraphs, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 2 , 3 and 6 of the Post Office (Amendment) Act, 1969 (No. 18 of 1969), and with the consent of the Minister for Finance, hereby order as follows :

1. (1) This Warrant may be cited as the Foreign Parcel Post Amendment (No. 9) Warrant, 1974.

(2) This Warrant shall come into operation on the 1st day of October, 1974.

2. In this Warrant "the Principal Warrant" means the Foreign Parcel Post Warrant, 1953 ( S.I. No. 418 of 1953 ).

3. The Third Schedule to the Principal Warrant is hereby amended by the substitution for the entries therein (inserted by Regulation 6 of the Foreign Parcel Post Amendment (No. 8) Warrant, 1971 ( S.I. No. 199 of 1971 )) of the entries in the First Schedule to this Warrant.

4. The Fifth Schedule to the Principal Warrant is hereby amended by the substitution for the entries therein (inserted by Regulation 6 of the Foreign Parcel Post Amendment (No. 7) Warrant, 1971 ( S.I. No. 33 of 1971 )) of the entries in the Second Schedule to this Warrant.

FIRST SCHEDULE

"Customs Clearance Fee :

On each parcel where customs duty is payable

25p

Outgoing Express Delivery Fee

26p

Advice of Delivery Fee on outgoing insured parcel

7p

For each transmission of the advice of delivery form by airmail

3p"

SECOND SCHEDULE.

"Cash-on-Delivery Parcels :

Cash-on-Delivery fee

40p on each outgoing parcel."

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Warrant applies to the Foreign Parcel Post service and comes into operation on 1st October, 1974. It authorises increases in the fees for customs clearance, express delivery, advice of delivery and cash-on-delivery services.
