HARBOUR RATES (DROGHEDA HARBOUR) ORDER, 1978.

HARBOUR RATES (DROGHEDA HARBOUR) ORDER, 1978.

I, PÁDRAIG FAULKNER, Minister for Tourism and Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 104 of the Harbours Act, 1946 (No. 9 of 1946), the Transport, Fuel and Power (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1959 ( S.I. No. 125 of 1959 ), and the Transport and Power (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1977 ( S.I. No. 305 of 1977 ), and after due compliance with section 106 of the said Act, hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Harbour Rates (Drogheda Harbour) Order, 1978.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 28th day of December, 1978.

2. The Harbour Rates (Drogheda Harbour) Order, 1947 (S. R. & O., No. 228 of 1947), shall have effect as if--

( a ) the rates specified in the First and Second Schedules (inserted by the Harbour Rates (Drogheda Harbour), Order, 1976 ( S.I. No. 150 of 1976 )) thereto were increased by fifteen per cent, and

( b ) there were substituted for the Fourth Schedule (inserted by the Harbour Rates (Drogheda Harbour) Order, 1969 ( S.I. No. 128 of 1969 )) thereto the following Schedule--

1 For the use of any warehouse, shed or covered storage area for each day or part thereof (excluding Sundays and Bank Holidays) exceeding the period authorised by the bye-laws of the harbour authority for the time being in force: per cubic metre. 11½
2 For the use of any wharf, pier, quay or other uncovered area for each day or part thereof exceeding the period authorised by the bye-laws of the harbour authority for the time being in force:--

(a) for each day or part thereof for the first 14 days (Sundays and Bank Holidays excluded) per square metre. 3
(b) for each day or part thereof after the first 14 days (Sundays and Bank Holidays excluded) per square metre. 24

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order authorises the Drogheda Harbour Commissioners to charge increased goods, tonnage and storage rates at the Port of Drogheda.
