TOURISM AND TRANSPORT (ALTERATION OF NAME OF DEPARTMENT AND TITLE OF MINISTER) ORDER, 1980.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 6 (1) of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act, 1939 (No. 36 of 1939), hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Tourism and Transport (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1980.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 25th day of January, 1980.

2. The name of the Department of State, the present name whereof is, in the Irish language, an Roinn Turasóireachta agus Iompair and, in the English language, the Department of Tourism and Transport, is hereby altered, in the Irish language, to that of an Roinn Iompair and, in the English language, to that of the Department of Transport.

3. The title of the Minister having charge of a Department of State, whose present title is, in the Irish language, an tAire Turasóireachta agus Iompair, and, in the English language, the Minister for Tourism and Transport, is hereby altered, in the Irish language, to that of an tAire Iompair and, in the English language, to that of the Minister for Transport.

4. In any enactment--

( a ) references to the Department of Tourism and Transport shall be construed as references to the Department of Transport;

( b ) references to the Minister for Tourism and Transport shall be construed as references to the Minister for Transport.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order changes the name of the Department of Tourism and Transport to that of the Department of Transport and the title of the Minister for Tourism and Transport to that of the Minister for Transport.
