I, TOM NOLAN, Minister for Labour, in exercise of the power conferred on me by section 5 (5) of the Payment of Wages Act, 1979 (No. 40 of 1979), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Payment of Wages Act, 1979 (Section 5) (Commencement) Order, 1980.

2. The 1st day of January, 1981, is hereby fixed as the day on which section 5 of the Payment of Wages Act, 1979 , (No. 40 of 1979), shall come into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order appoints the 1st day of January 1981 as the day on which section 5 of the Payment of Wages Act, 1980, comes into operation.
