S.I. No. 287/1982:

DUBLIN TRAFFIC AND PARKING (No. 2) TEMPORARY RULES, 1982.

DUBLIN TRAFFIC AND PARKING (No. 2) TEMPORARY RULES, 1982.

I, PATRICK McLAUGHLIN, Commissioner of the Garda Síochána, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 89 and 90 (as amended by section 6 of the Road Traffic Act, 1968 (No. 25 of 1968)) of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (No. 24 of 1961), the Local Government (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1977 ( S.I. No. 269 of 1977 ), and with the consent of the Minister for the Environment, hereby make the following temporary rules in respect of the area comprising the county borough of Dublin, the borough of Dún Laoghaire, the county of Dublin and the town of Balbriggan:

1. These rules may be cited as the Dublin Traffic and Parking (No. 2) Temporary Rules, 1982.

2. These rules shall come into operation on the 1st day of October, 1982.

3. In these rules--

"the principal rules" means the Dublin Traffic and Parking Temporary Rules, 1982 ( S.I. No. 109 of 1982 ).

4. Rule 3 (1) of the principal rules is hereby amended by the substitution of the following definition for that of "business hours":

"'business hours', in relation to the borough of Dún Laoghaire, means the period from 9.00 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. on a weekday which is not a holiday and, in relation to the Dublin area other than the borough of Dún Laoghaire, the period from 8.00 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. on a weekday which is not a Saturday or a holiday;".

5. The following rule is hereby substituted for rule 27 of the principal rules:

"27. The fee for a parking disc shall be 20p.".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These rules amend the Dublin Traffic and Parking Temporary rules, 1982 ( S.I. No. 109 of 1982 ) to define, for the purposes of bye-law control, new business hours for the borough of Dún Laoghaire and to increase the disc parking fee from 10 to 20 new pence.
