HEALTH SERVICES (No. 4) REGULATIONS, 1983.

The Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 5 of the Health Act, 1947 (No. 28 of 1947) and sections 59 and 72 of the Health Act, 1970 (No. 1 of 1970 ) hereby makes the following Regulations:--

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Health Services (No. 4) Regulations, 1983.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of January, 1984.

3. Article 6 of the Health Services Regulations, 1972 ( S.I. No. 88 of 1972 ) as substituted by the Health Services Regulations, 1983 ( S.I. No. 54 of 1983 ) is hereby amended by the substitution of £28 for £23 wherever that sum occurs.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations replace article 6 of the Health Services Regulations, 1972 and revoke the Health Services (No. 1) Regulations, 1983.

With regard to expenditure incurred after 1st January, 1984 on prescribed drugs, medicines and medical and surgical appliances, the Regulations provide for the refund of the amount by which such expenditure exceeds £28 in respect of any month.
