THE FIRE PREVENTION COUNCIL (ESTABLISHMENT) ORDER, 1978 (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1984.

The Minister for the Environment in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 3 of the Local Government Services (Corporate Bodies) Act, 1971 (No. 6 of 1971), hereby orders as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Fire Prevention Council (Establishment) Order, 1978 (Amendment) Order, 1984.

2. The Fire Prevention Council (Establishment) Orders, 1978 and 1980 and this Order may be cited together as the Fire Prevention Council (Establishment) Orders, 1978 to 1984.

3. Article 5 of the Fire Prevention Council (Establishment) Order, 1978 is hereby amended by the substitution for sub-article (1) of the following sub-article:--

"(1) The Council shall consist of ten members--

( a ) five of whom shall be appointed by the Minister, and

( b ) five of whom shall be appointed by the Minister on the nomination of the Federation.".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The purpose of this Order is to provide for an increase in the membership of the Fire Prevention Council from eight to ten.
