S.I. No. 341/1984:

SOLICITORS ACTS, 1954 AND 1960 (FEES) REGULATIONS 1984.

SOLICITORS ACTS, 1954 AND 1960 (FEES) REGULATIONS 1984.

By virtue and in pursuance of Sections 4, 5, 79 and 82 of the Solicitors' Acts 1954 and 1960 the Incorporated Law Society of Ireland hereby makes the following Regulations:--

1. From and after the date of these Regulations the fees specified in the schedule hereto shall be paid to the Society by the applicant in respect of the matters therein mentioned.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on 8th day of December 1984.

3. The Solicitors' Acts 1954 and 1960 (Fees) Regulations 1983 ( S.I. No. 380 of 1983 ) are revoked as from the date of operation of these Regulations as regards applications for Practising Certificates for the practice year but shall continue to apply to applications for Practising Certificates for the practice year 1984/85 or any earlier practice year.

4. These Regulations may be cited as the Solicitors' Acts 1954 and 1960 (Fees) Regulations 1984.

(i) On application for a Practising Certificate for the practice year 1985/86 or any later practice year by a solicitor who practices or carried on his business in the State... ... ... ... ... ...

(ii) On application by a solicitor who has been admitted less than 3 years ... ... ... ... ...

(iii) On application under Section 17 of the Solicitors (Amendment) Act 1960 for a copy of an entry on File A or File B ... ... ... ... ...

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The fee payable by a solicitor on taking out a Practising Certificate is raised from £224 to £250 in the case of a solicitor practising more than three years, and from £158 to £175 in the case of a solicitor admitted less than three years. The fee payable for a copy of an entry on File A or File B is unchanged.
