DISTRICT COURT AREAS (VARIATION OF DAYS AND HOURS) ORDER, 1985.

I, MICHAEL NOONAN, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 26 of the Courts of Justice Act, 1953 (No. 32 of 1953), and after consultation with the President of the District Court, hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the District Court Areas (Variation of Days and Hours) Order, 1985.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of April, 1985.

2. In this Order "the Principal Order" means the District Court (Areas) Order, 1961 ( S.I. No. 5 of 1961 ).

3. The First Schedule to the Principal Order is hereby amended by the substitution in column (4) at reference number 2 of "January, March, May, July, September and November at 11.30 a.m." for "each month at 12 noon".

4. The Second Schedule to the Principal Order is hereby amended by--

( a ) the substitution in column (4) at reference number 2 of "January, March, May, July, September and November at 11.30 a.m." for "each month at 12 noon", and

( b ) the insertion in column (4) at reference number 109 (as amended by the District Court Districts and Areas (Amendment) Order, 1967 ( S.I. No. 13 of 1967 )), of "and Third Tuesday in February, April, June, October and December at 11 a.m." after "at 11 a.m.".

5. Business transacted in the District Court which is initiated but not completed before the commencement of this Order shall be continued and completed as if this Order had been in force at the time at which such business had been initiated.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order provides for extra sittings of the District Court at Naas and varies the number of sittings and brings forward the commencement time of the District Court at Hacketstown.
