AIR NAVIGATION (EUROCONTROL) (NO. 2) ORDER, 1985.

I, JIM MITCHELL, Minister for Communications, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 4 (1) of the Air Navigation (Eurocontrol) Act, 1963 (No. 15 of 1963), and the Minister and Secretaries (Amendment) Act, 1983 (No. 40 of 1983), hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Air Navigation (Eurocontrol) (No. 2) Order, 1985.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of January, 1986.

2. Article 24 of the Protocol amending the Eurocontrol International Convention relating to Co-operation for the Safety of Air Navigation of the 13th day of December, 1980, done at Brussels on the 12th day of February, 1981, shall have the force of law in the State.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

Article 24 of the Protocol amending the Eurocontrol International Convention reads as follows:--

"By reason of its own social security scheme, the Organisation, the Director General and staff of the Organisation shall be exempt from all compulsory contributions to national social security bodies, without prejudice to arrangements between the Organisation and Contracting Parties existing at the entry into force of the Protocol opened for signature at Brussels in 1981".
