I, JOHN P. WILSON, Minister for the Marine, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 56 of the Fisheries Act, 1980 (No. 1 of 1980 ), and the Fisheries (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1977 ( S.I. No. 30 of 1977 ) (as adapted by the Tourism, Fisheries and Forestry (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1987 ( S.I. No. 82 of 1987 )), hereby order as follows: |

1. This Order may be cited as the Bass (Conservation of Stocks) (No. 2) Order, 1990. |
||
2. This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of July, 1990 and shall cease to have effect on the 30th day of June, 1991. |
||
3. Subject to Article 4 of this Order no person shall sell or offer for sale bass other than bass which has been imported into the State. |
||
4. In a prosecution for an offence under Article 3 of this Order it shall be a defence for the defendant to show that the bass to which the prosecution relates were imported into the State. |
||

EXPLANATORY NOTE. |
||
The effect of this Order is to prohibit the sale or offer for sale of bass (other than bass which has been imported into the State) from 1st day of July, 1990 to 30th day of June, 1991. |
