COINAGE (DIMENSION OF FIVE PENCE COIN) REGULATIONS, 1992. |

I, BERTIE AHERN, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 (6) of the Decimal Currency Act, 1969 (No. 23 of 1969), hereby make the following Regulations: |

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Coinage (Dimension of Five Pence Coin) Regulations, 1992. |
||
(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of June, 1992. |
||
2. In these Regulations "five pence coin" means a coin of the denomination of five pence provided under section 3 (1) of the Decimal Currency Act, 1969 (No. 23 of 1969). |

3. The diameter of a five pence coin shall be 1.8500 centimetres and, accordingly, the First Schedule to the Coinage (Dimensions and Designs) Regulations, 1969 ( S.I. No. 160 of 1969 ), is hereby amended by the substitution opposite the mention of five pence of "1.8500" for "2.3595". |

4. The graining upon the edge of a five pence coin shall be of fine mill. |
||
