S.I. No. 193/1992:

CIVIL BILL COURTS (IRELAND) ACT, 1851 (ADAPTATION) ORDER, 1992.

CIVIL BILL COURTS (IRELAND) ACT, 1851 (ADAPTATION) ORDER, 1992.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 12 of the Adaptation of Enactments Act, 1922 (No. 2 of 1922) (as adapted in consequence of the enactment of the Constitution), and section 5 of the Constitution (Consequential Provisions) Act, 1937 (No. 40 of 1937), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Civil Bill Courts (Ireland) Act, 1851 (Adaptation) Order, 1992.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to the Order.

3. Section 31 of the Civil Bill Courts (Ireland) Act, 1851, shall have effect as if for the reference to the Lord Lieutenant or other Chief Governor or Governors of Ireland for the time being acting with the consent and advice of the Privy Council and the reference to the Lord Lieutenant or other Chief Governor or Governors of Ireland for the time being acting with the advice of the Privy Council there were substituted references to the Government.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Adaptation Order enables the Government to exercise the functions formerly exercisable by the Lord Lieutenant under section 31 of the Civil Bill Courts (Ireland) Act, 1851.
