I, RUAIRÍ QUINN, T.D., Minister for Enterprise and Employment, in exercise of the power conferred on me by section 14 of, and paragraph 1 (e) of the Schedule to, the Holidays (Employees) Act, 1973 (No. 25 of 1973), and the Industry and Commerce (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1993 ( S.I. No. 19 of 1993 ), hereby make the following Regulations: |

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Holidays (Employees) Act, 1973 (Public Holiday) Regulations, 1993. |
||
(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 4th day of May, 1993. |
||
2. The first Monday in May is hereby appointed to be a public holiday for the purposes of the Holidays (Employees) Act, 1973 (No. 25 of 1973). |
||

EXPLANATORY NOTE. |
||
These Regulations appoint the first Monday in May to be a public holiday for the purposes of the Holidays (Employees) Act, 1973 with effect from 1994. |
