S.I. No. 176/1993:

SOCIAL WELFARE ACT, 1993 (SECTION 26) (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1993.

SOCIAL WELFARE ACT, 1993 (SECTION 26) (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1993.

The Minister for Social Welfare in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 26 of the Social Welfare Act, 1993 (No. 5 of 1993), hereby orders as follows:--

Short title.

1. This Order may be cited as the Social Welfare Act, 1993 (Section 26) (Commencement) Order, 1993.

Commencement.

2. Section 26 of the Social Welfare Act, 1993 shall come into operation on the 25th day of June, 1993.

GIVEN under the Official Seal of the Minister for Social Welfare, this 25th day of June, 1993.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order brings Section 26 of the Social Welfare Act, 1993 into operation with effect from the 25th of June 1993.

Section 26 of the 1993 Act provides that unemployed people participating in certain prescribed courses will be insurable for the purposes of Occupational Injury Benefits.
