WILDLIFE (WILD BIRDS) (OPEN SEASONS) (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1995

I, MICHAEL D. HIGGINS, Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 8 and 24 of the Wildlife Act, 1976 (No. 39 of 1976), and the Heritage (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1994 ( S.I. No. 443 of 1994 ), hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Wildlife (Wild Birds) (Open Seasons) (Amendment) Order, 1995.

(2) The Wildlife (Wild Birds) (Open Seasons) Orders, 1979 to 1993, and this Order may be cited together as the Wildlife (Wild Birds) (Open Seasons) Orders, 1979 to 1995.

2. In this Order "The Principal Order" means the Wildlife (Wild Birds) (Open Seasons) Order, 1979 ( S.I. No. 192 of 1979 ).

3. The First Schedule to the Principal Order is hereby amended by the insertion of the following entry in Part I:

4. The first column of Part I (inserted by the Wildlife (Wild Birds) (Open Seasons) (Amendment) Order, 1986 ( S.I. No. 307 of 1986 )) of the First Schedule to the Principal Order is hereby amended by the deletion of the reference to the Grey Partridge.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to amend the Open Seasons list of huntable species of wild birds by (a) the addition of the Curlew for the period from 1st November to 30th November, both dates inclusive, and (b) the removal of the Grey Partridge.
