ADOPTION RULES, 1996 |

An Bord Uchtala, with the consent of the Minister for Health and in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 5 of the Adoption Act, 1952 (No. 25 of 1952), hereby makes the following rules:-- |
||
1. These rules may be cited as the Adoption Rules, 1996. |
||
2. The Adoption (No.2) Rules, 1988 ( S.I. No. 329 of 1988 ) are hereby revoked. |
||
3. The Adoption Rules, 1988 ( S.I. No. 304 of 1988 ), the Adoption Rules, 1990 ( S.I. No. 170 of 1990 ), the Adoption Rules, 1991 ( S.I. No. 247 of 1991 ), and these rules shall be construed as one and may be cited together as the Adoption Rules, 1988 to 1996. |

4. In the Schedule to the Adoption Rules, 1990, in any place where the address of An Bord Uchtala appears as "Hawkins House, Dublin 2", the following shall be substituted as the address of An Bord Uchtala -- "Shelbourne House, Shelbourne Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4". |
||
5. These rules shall come into operation on the 14th day of August, 1996. |

In exercise of the powers conferred on the Minister for Health by section 5 of the Adoption Act, 1952 , which said powers are delegated to me by the Health (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) Order, 1995 ( S.I. No. 130 of 1995 ), I, Austin Currie, Minister of State at the Department of Health, hereby consent to the foregoing rules. |

EXPLANATORY NOTE |
||
The Adoption Board will shortly be moving its offices to Shelbourne House, Shelbourne Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4. Various forms used by the Board in the adoption process refer to its address as Hawkins House, Dublin 2. The purpose of these rules is to change the reference in the forms to Shelbourne House, Shelbourne Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4 with effect from 14th August, 1996. |
